How did it all start?

Philanthrocycling recieved its first breaths of life from our 3 young children: Kennadie – age 14, Allen – age 13, and Daniel – age 9. During a family meeting they decided that they really didn’t need, nor want anything for Christmas in 2018. Their words were “we have enough, we don’t need more, we want to help other people that don’t have enough.”

Their compassion was the spark that lit a fire of compassion that would soon engulf the entire family. As the project “Giving Away Christmas” quickly grew and grew, With a background in marketing, I (Jeff) began to act quickly as there was not much time to get the word out.

With the kids ideas, and my wife Nicole jumping on board and supporting us, Philanthrocycling.org began to “sprout legs” and begin to walk. This is of course a work in progress, but as a team we will see it through. Working together as a team and as a family to help fill the gaps in our community is something that I think we have always dreamed of doing. It just so happens that 2018 is the year that this dream would come to life and become something real.

What is our goal in the long run?

As a family, we have already been through thick & thin. Along our journey through life, there have been many helping hands along the way. Sometimes these were friends, sometimes they were family, sometimes they were organizations, and sometimes they were just complete and total strangers. For this we are forever grateful, and now it is our time to give back.

It is our goal, through this foundation, to share the compassion, hope, and joy that is in our soul by helping others in need.

As a family, we are avid cyclists of varying levels of experience and ability. Through our passion for riding on two-wheels, we aim to raise and disburse funds to other charitable organizations, causes, & individuals.

In the long run, it is our goal to grow each year and create more “Philanthrocyclists” who will be both an ambassador of the sport of cycling as well as join us in our mission to share compassion, hope, and joy by fundraising for those in need.

“We can all make a difference in the lives of others in need, because it is the most simple of gestures that make the most significant of differences.” -Miya Yamanouchi
